Q. REGARDING TAILTEANN'S "5 SENSES DESIGN PHILOSOpHY"; IF YOU WERE to analogise your company/products, WHAT WOULD it/they LOOK, FEEL, SOUND, SMELL, AND TASTE LIKE?!

PADRAIG'S ANSWER:

"Regarding the look and feel of our software products, we'd like to think they are something akin to "a velvet glove upon an iron fist" - always striving to be aesthetic, smooth and sophisticated whilst simultaneously being robust, efficient and effective.

I think this kind of design philosophy is perhaps a Tipperary thing. A pretty good example in this regard, I think, is the County's Senior Hurling manager, Michael Ryan. In 2016, he crafted an All-Ireland winning team that possessed style and substance in equal measure. The people of "The Premier" were hugely supportive of his approach throughout the Championship campaign, as they could really identify with what was on display. 15 years beforehand, the Tipp manager of the time, Nicky English (pictured below) developed an all-conquering side that also placed a very strong emphasis on striking such a balance. Like just about every other 80's born boy in Tipp, Nicky was our childhood hero - he just seemed to personify all that was good about our Home County. So when he later said he could really empathise with Tailteann and would be glad to become our Brand Ambassador, I must say it felt like all of our Christmases had come at once!

In relation to our "sound", on one hand, I think Weightless by Marconi Union (the 10 hour version in particular!) is an apt metaphor. As you may already know, the band produced this exceptionally relaxing song in collaboration with expert sound therapists. Together, they carefully arranged harmonies, rhythms and bass lines to deliver a composition capable of slowing a listener's heart rate, reducing his/her blood pressure, and lowering his/her levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. As well as reflecting our pretty mellow, tranquil, and stress-free attitude, we think the song helps to symbolise how we operate, as we also typically partner with experts from other fields in order to create something special that neither of us could on our own.

On the other hand, I think Light and Day by The Polyphonic Spree sums us up equally well, as to me, it's the sound of people who love what they're doing! The way the band conjure up energy and feed off each other in that video is certainly something we aspire to do anyway!

As regards taste and smell, I'm tempted to say an apple, as there is an orchard not 20 metres away from our office! As another tech company may have dibs on it though, I will instead say a 30 month old Hereford Prime Steak Fillet, as the adjacent beef farm on which we were raised and worked sought to produce such gold standard cuts."
