"Balance is not something you find - balance is something you create."

Jana Kingsford, Entrepreneur, Author.

Fergal and Padraig were wholly aware that their cousin, MacDara Butler held an Undergraduate Degree in Economics and Finance, a Masters Degree in Interactive Media, and a further Masters Degree in Product Management. As impressive as his educational background was, it was not the primary reason they sought him out to join Tailteann though.

As the Uruguayan writer, Eduardo Galeano once said: “Show me how you play, and I’ll tell you who you are”. As soon as the trio could lace a pair of football boots, they started to share the sporting fields of North Tipperary. Exuding a quiet confidence upon these, MacDara was the type of cerebral player who could direct an attack like a conductor does an orchestra. The personification of efficiency, Mac seldom wasted possession whilst typically maximising it. Considering his play never lacked for ambition, this said much for the quality of his decision-making ability.

Believing he was the Co-ordinator/Implementer that they needed, Fergal and Padraig extended MacDara an invite to join Tailteann, one which he immediately accepted. Having successfully executed numerous roles on the company’s behalf since, MacDara currently leads the Sports Science division.

"The ideal size for a team is 6. If there are too many people in a team, it essentially becomes a group, with roles and behaviours overlapping and causing problems. A smaller team ensures that each voice and contribution is heard and valued."

Dr. Meredith Belbin, Legendary Management Theorist.

for nigh on a decade, the irish government has...

...deliberately steered multinational and capital investment towards the country’s largest urban area. Whilst we profoundly disagree with this strategy, we have undoubtedly been beneficiaries of such, as it has allowed us to be exceptionally picky when choosing from the abundance of incredible talent that undeniably exists in the Irish Mid-West.

needing just three further staff members to reach our desired number of six...

..the selection process was a long and arduous one. As a starting point, each potential recruit had to be a “Specialist”, capable of bringing in-depth knowledge of key areas to the team. Of equal importance however, he/she had to be capable of identifying with our core values, be willing to place the needs of the collective before his/her own, and aspire to produce “pure, beautiful, inventive” output. After an exhaustive process, we were delighted to welcome the following individuals to our team:

Karol

Possessing an outstanding appreciation of the psychology of design, Karol is an elite level programmer who lives in Nenagh.

A perfectionist by nature, Karol’s passionate belief in adhering to the highest quality standards for code and architecture design sets the standard for the rest of our team to follow.

Matt

Bending things the rest of us see as a straight line, Matt is a free spirited UX Designer from Limerick.

Driven by a burning desire to better understand how humans interact with the world around them, Matt shapes beautifully engaging User Experiences based upon his expert knowledge of such.

ben

Residing in Limerick, Ben is a daring software engineer who has not only the analytical and problem solving skills to overcome pretty much any design obstacle but the courage and drive.

talent from the locality gives tailteann totality

It goes without saying that Fergal, Padraig, Macdara, Matt, Ben and Karol all have their own imperfections. Between the 6 of them however, all “9 Belbin Team Roles” are performed, thus ensuring the company possesses the near perfect balance that high performance teams possess.

Furthermore, all not only openly admit to...

...their individual weaknesses but seek to understand and address them. Due to this shared positive attitude, all manage to successfully minimise their weaknesses whilst simultaneously developing their individual strengths. Because "old ways won't open new doors", as the old saying goes!
