Turning off the family P.C in exasperation, Padraig's inner chimp spontaneously proclaimed to his elder brother, Fergal that a self-absorbed character such as Diouf would never enjoy a top-level career in their sporting world, the Corinthian one of Hurling. Fergal, a recent Information Technology graduate, grinned before suggesting: “we should test that hypothesis.”



The year was 2004, and diouf was padraig's star performer in...





...Championship Manager 4, the market leading soccer management computer game of the time. Whilst thoroughly captivated by the simulation’s strategic element, neither Padraig nor Fergal could really identify with 21st Century English Premier League soccer. It just wasn't their world. When it came to games in their home parish of Burgess, in their home county of Tipperary, you didn’t pick Hurling, Hurling picked you.



OPERATING on a shoestring budget from a spare room in their parent's house...





...the pair started to conduct deep research upon the game of their people, with a view to delivering a deep game for their people. Completely new to the multi-billion euro computer games industry and its harsh realities, the faced learning curve was steeper than the Silvermines mountain range which dominates their home’s skyline. Placing their faith in the lessons that their environment had taught them down the years though, their pipe dream slowly but surely started to resemble reality.



in the summer of 2007, after three years of pROGRAMMING what they are...





...Tailteann Games, in conjunction with The Gaelic Players Association, released the first ever Hurling computer game, beating global tech giant Sony to market along the way. Part love song, part call to arms, Bainisteoir - Hurling shot straight to Number 1 in the Irish PC Gaming Charts, knocking the latest version of Championship Manager off top spot. Of much greater importance, the critical acclaim the simulation received reassured the brothers that their environment was the guiding light they hoped/envisaged it would be.
